At PC Medics On Call we do charge a small fee when we have to travel outside of our 7 Mile Service Radius to a clients residence or business location.
However, considering that we are conveniently located in the Mid-Town Area of Wilmington and pretty much Centrally located to everything, there are very few instances where this fee is applicable.
Once again, considering that we are in the Midtown Area by UNCW and pretty much centrally located to everything in Wilmington, I would say that just about 80% of our clients that we have serviced in 8 years have not had to pay it.
Our Travel Charge Fees:
- 7 – 10 Miles = $20.00
- 10 – 13 Miles = $25.00
- 13 – 20 Miles = $30.00
- 20 – 25 Miles = $40.00
I charge these fees because…TIME is money and, if you would take the time to read “Why I Have a Travel Charge?” below, I am sure you will agree with me on what I explain once you have read it…Thank you
Here are some actual working examples:
An On-Site Service Call to Carolina Beach, is just under 14 Miles “One Way” and it takes 35-40min traffic dependent just to get there. That means that a “Round Trip“ requires 28 Miles and 1hr 20min of my time.
An On-Site Service Call to Leland, is 11 Miles “One Way” and it takes 30-40min traffic dependent just to get there. That means that a “Round Trip“ requires 22 Miles and 1hr 10min of my time.
A Service Call to Porters Neck, is 11 Miles “One Way” and it takes 35-40min traffic dependent just to get there. That means that a “Round Trip“ requires 22 Miles and 1hr 10min of my time.
Just on those 3 service calls alone, if I didn’t have a travel charge, I would incur a complete loss for the 72 Miles on my Car, gas costs, and I would have to eat almost 4hrs out of my business day!
Now, with that said.. Do You really think that my modest Travel Charge Fees are unrealistic?
Any company that tells you any different is full of B.S and.. you can most definitely be sure that they will include this charge in another part of their bill in order to offset them having to incur any form of loss!!!
